Target Remodel – OKC North
Hitting the Target in OKC
Oklahoma City, OK
The Covid-19 pandemic changed a lot of things for a lot of people … even how they shop.
Ordering groceries online and picking them up in the parking lot has become part of the new normal, and this Target store in Oklahoma City is here for it.
This $3.1 million remodel relocated the store’s office space to make room for a new grocery online store pick-up area equipped with new coolers and freezers. The project also gave Target a renovated salesfloor, flooring, paint, fixtures, and check lanes. The in-house Starbucks and snack bar were also remodeled.
Exterior work included new paint, EIFS, and new signage. Inside, the sales floor is beautiful polished concrete.
A project like this doesn’t come without some unique challenges, but, of course, Crossland was ready for them all.
All of Target’s office inventory (furniture, desks, etc.) was stored in 40-foot Conex containers in the parking lot. Also, the store remained open during the entire remodel process, which meant all of the construction work had to take place overnight, so we didn’t disrupt shoppers and guests. By morning, the site had to be cleaned up and ready for a new day.
All told, the remodel touched nearly 140,000 SF of space that is now ready for today’s and tomorrow’s shoppers.
