SEOLS Central Services Building
New Home for Southeast Oklahoma Library System (SEOLS)
McAlester, OK
In McAlester, Oklahoma, a beacon of knowledge shines brighter with its brand new $2.1 million SEOLS Central Services Building, which spans 5,500 SF. This modern headquarters marks a transformative shift for SEOLS staff, bidding farewell to their basement confines at the McAlester Public Library.
Encompassing seven counties and serving 16 libraries plus a bookmobile, SEOLS stands as a vital hub for literacy in Southeastern Oklahoma.
Externally, the building boasts a blend of Pre-Engineered Metal Building, Metal Panels, and Brick Masonry, complemented by striking exterior signage and a monumental entrance.
Inside, the ambiance radiates warmth and sophistication, with sealed concrete floors, an inviting brick accent wall, and elegant wood paneling gracing the main entrance. The facility’s amenities include a tankless gas water heater, reflecting a commitment to modern efficiency.
Crossland’s self-perform crew played a pivotal role, executing concrete, steel, and rough carpentry tasks with precision, ensuring adherence to the project timeline.
A particular challenge on this project involved conflicts with the metal panels and the hat channels. Our steel crew worked longer hours and overtime to ensure that the building components were completed by the project schedule.
Having a great relationship with this client helped our team overcome any challenges that arose. Regular meetings ensured transparency and alignment between expectations and execution, further cementing the partnership’s success.
It was very rewarding to work well together and hand over the keys to a grateful and excited owner.
