Saint Francis 3 South
Third Floor Oncology Remodel at Saint Francis Hospital
Tulsa, OK
When communities grow, so does the need for essential services like medical care. In Tulsa, which is enjoying rapid growth, Saint Francis Hospital needed to catch up to the growing demand for space and services.
In December 2021, Crossland completed an $8 million remodel of the hospital’s third floor, which significantly improved the oncology department.
The 19,000 SF project resulted in larger patient rooms, larger bathrooms, and a new hospice family waiting room.
This project was challenging, as it called for the complete demolition of the third floor of a fully functioning hospital. A tremendous amount of pre-planning and scheduling was necessary to get the cranes and pump trucks to the appropriate locations.
Crossland worked closely with the architects at KKT Architects and the hospital staff to ensure that the build was done properly and without disrupting the hospital operations.
The exterior finishes of this project included all new windows and a new 30 x 30 space that provided the new family waiting room.
Interior finishes included new ceramic tile, flooring, and ADA millwork in the bathrooms. A new headwall layout was added in patient rooms so the computer could be closer to the patients. High-end finishes were also added in the hospice rooms giving them a comfortable, at-home feeling.
