In September 2013, Crossland Heavy Contractors began work on the Monett Water Treatment Plant. The project included a precast concrete filter building housing an Actiflo Package Clarification Unit, a four-cell sand filtration system, chlorination facilities, fluoridation facilities, and various laboratory, office, and conference spaces. Treated water is stored in a 1 million gallon capacity, 100 foot diameter, below-ground clear well that is cast-in-place concrete. A prefabricated, high service and backwash pump station was placed between the filter building and the clear well to pump treated water through the city’s water system and to backwash the sand filtration system. A lagoon was constructed to store backwash water, along with various flow control structures and yard piping. The project was completed in March 2015.
