Kocher and Beck, an international label and envelope production company, selected Crossland Construction Company to lead their Design/Build expansion and remodel project in Lenexa, Kansas. The $5 million contract included 24,000 square feet of new space, and the remodeling of 4,000 square feet of the existing plant. Numerous change orders, including design elements, pushed the project into the winter months, thus creating less than ideal work temperatures. The existing plant was also in full production 24/7, which was an additional challenge. Because of the nature of their business, Crossland also had to comply with the building codes set by the Department of Homeland Security. However, through team efforts, communication, and a desire for Owner satisfaction, we delivered a state-of-the-art facility poised to meet the company’s global demands.
