Enhancing Safety at Expo Square: New Security Facility Strengthens Event Operations
Tulsa, OK
Expo Square in Tulsa is a hub for entertainment and education, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Ensuring the safety of attendees, vendors, and staff is a top priority—which is why a new 5,800 SF Security Building was a critical addition to the site.
This $1.2 million facility serves as the main surveillance center for Expo Square, housing security personnel offices and providing a secure check-in location for vendors handling money during events.
High-Security Features for Maximum Protection
Crossland’s scope of work included structural and interior enhancements designed for optimal security. Key features include:
• Bulletproof construction – The facility is built with bulletproof sheetrock, glass, and a secure vault door.
• Dedicated storage & communication – A large vault for monetary storage and multiple charging stations for walkie-talkies and other security devices.
• Durable interior finishes – Wall tile, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, and solid surface countertops for longevity and ease of maintenance.
Externally, our team completed CMU breezeblock demolition and enhanced the building with painted exterior steel and CMU surfaces.
Overcoming Challenges & Delivering Results
While the project remained on schedule, material delays—particularly with door hardware and frames—presented obstacles that required careful coordination.
Working with Expo Square on this project was a rewarding experience, reinforcing our commitment to delivering secure, high-quality spaces that support Tulsa County and the fairgrounds.
