CHC won a Construction Management at Risk contract with Beaver Water District to capture and reclaim the filter-to-waste water in a new 550,000+ gallon recovery basin and send it back to the head of the plant. This project included other improvements as well, including blasting and painting existing clarifier mechanisms, extending and improving the solids handling process, construction of a new wash water concrete basin, complete with vertical turbine pumps.
This was a two-phase project, and we are currently in the construction phase of Phase 2. Through value analysis, we were able to eliminate over $300k to bring this phase into budget for the Water District. Some of our biggest value engineering ideas included, redesigning the structure, changing sub-grade prep and pipe materials, and moving the location of the structure to eliminate shoring.
