Tulsa historic district development offers view of the city, future

The historic Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, now offers views of the city that are as special as its story and culture.

There are many amazing features to the new five-story 21 North Greenwood mixed-use building, and the view from the Vista at 21 is icing on the cake.

GH2 Architects was the design team behind the $28M retail and office building that will bring professional services back to the Greenwood District and celebrate and honor the area’s unique history.

With more than 83,000 SF of open, column-free office space, retail space on the ground floor, a parking garage, and a rooftop multi-use facility, 21 North Greenwood is a beautiful, modern enhancement to this area of Tulsa.

The building facade is made of glass, masonry, and metal panels. Inside, tenants and visitors will enjoy accent wood ceilings in the lobby, modern finishes throughout, and even a large format wall tile from Italy.

Exterior balconies are available on levels 2 through 4. These consist of a curtain wall system, metal panels, and wood-look metal soffits.

The building also emphasizes health, as it features an exercise space and plenty of natural light, which is proven to be beneficial to employee mental health. Restaurants and entertainment venues are within walking distance.

Another unique structure element is The Greenwood Rising Museum, a museum and history center dedicated to Tulsa’s historic black district. The building owner gifted a corner of 21 North Greenwood for the museum during construction.

Kajeer Yar, property owner, told The Tulsa World that he wants the Greenwood District to be a “beacon for people to realize all these things are possible, not just in Tulsa but in downtown, in north Tulsa.”
