Marta began her journey with Crossland in 2000 and played an indispensable role in numerous aspects of the company throughout the years.
Her business card could have read:
Marketing Director/Assistant Secretary of the Board / Travel Agent / Personal Finance Assistant / Party Planner Extraordinaire / “Mom” and Knower of all things Crossland
Throughout her years here, she served the company in many ways and was often the go-to person. If you ever had a question, Marta likely knew the answer. Her contributions to this company’s growth were crucial, especially within the Marketing department.
Ever wondered how we get to build some of these multi-million-dollar projects? Well, it’s no simple feat, and Marta was among the key players that helped accomplish that over the years. She started out working on proposals and qualifications for the company. This required many long hours, at times after hours, to meet endless deadlines.
Even though she’s tried to take a step back over the past year or so, she was essential to the company’s success, doing whatever was asked of her throughout her tenure. She attended all board meetings as the Assistant Secretary and planned dozens of company picnics, Christmas parties, and retreats. She was quite literally the “superglue” holding it all together here at Crossland.
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “I’ve enjoyed every day and have learned a lot… especially how to roll with the punches,” she chuckled.
Originally from Columbus, Marta had the privilege of knowing our company founder, Ivan Sr., whom she greatly respected. She most definitely has some funny stories of the Crossland Brothers that she swears she will never tell…wink, wink. But we bet there’s a chance she might spill the beans for a small charge. 😉
Marta has always been an active supporter of the Columbus community, participating in several organizations and volunteering her time generously throughout the years.
As she embarks on the next chapter, Marta and her husband Gary look forward to relishing the outdoors, traveling in their 5th wheel to visit family across the country, and spending more time with those precious grandkids.
If you have had the good fortune of knowing Marta Brown, you understand the dedication and hard work she’s poured into this company over the past two decades. She definitely went above and beyond to ensure success in everything she touched here.
When asked about advice for future generations, she simply said,
“Never give up!”
Her presence around the office and within the company will be greatly missed. We wish her the best in this next chapter and look forward to her dropping by to say hi.
