At Crossland, we’re proud to announce that we officially have an approved Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Defense (DoD) for the SkillBridge program! This partnership marks an exciting step in our commitment to supporting transitioning service members as they prepare for careers in the civilian workforce.
What is the DOD SkillBridge Program?
The Department of Defense SkillBridge program is a unique initiative that allows active-duty service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during their last 180 days of military service. Through this program, service members can seamlessly transition into new career opportunities, while industry partners—like Crossland—gain access to some of the most highly trained and disciplined professionals in the workforce.
How It Works
For Service Members: SkillBridge provides an opportunity to explore careers in the construction industry, develop new skills, and gain hands-on experience before leaving military service—all while continuing to receive military pay and benefits.
For Crossland: This program allows us to train and mentor service members in a real-world construction environment. It also gives us access to a highly skilled, motivated workforce, ready to take on leadership roles within the company.
Why SkillBridge & Crossland?
At Crossland, we understand that military service members bring a unique set of skills—discipline, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving—that translate exceptionally well to the construction industry. Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities for veterans to build long-term careers in a field that values hands-on experience and strong leadership.
In Fall 2024, we shared our intent to pursue SkillBridge, recognizing the potential to make an impact both for our company and for those who have served our country. Now, with our official approval, we’re excited to launch this initiative and welcome service members into our internships, apprenticeships, and career training programs.
What’s Next?
Crossland will soon begin accepting applications from transitioning service members who are interested in exploring careers in construction through SkillBridge. If you or someone you know is eligible for the program and eager to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry, we encourage you to reach out and learn more about this incredible opportunity.
