At Crossland, we believe that growth and learning are continuous processes, best fostered through hands-on experience and shared knowledge. This past week, our Tulsa Division organized field visits, bringing together a group of Field Engineers, Senior Field Engineers, Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers, and Assistant Project Managers. The purpose? To explore four of our current project sites, gain insights from the project teams, and capture valuable lessons learned from each job.
These site walks provided an incredible opportunity for our team members to engage with real-world challenges and solutions. Each project showcased different phases of construction, allowing our team to delve into specifics such as project planning, team coordination, technical execution, and risk management. Conversations centered around project details, strategies for overcoming obstacles, and the importance of aligning each role to keep projects moving forward.
What We Learned Together
Throughout the day, the Tulsa team engaged in discussions that highlighted:
- Detailed Project Coordination: Observing how planning translates into action on-site, especially in complex projects.
- Problem-Solving in Action: Sharing practical solutions from the field that can only be learned through hands-on experience.
- Enhanced Safety Practices: Ensuring that each project not only meets but exceeds our safety standards.
- Quality Control Excellence: Reinforcing the importance of QA/QC in every stage of the build.
Our team came away with a fresh perspective, ready to incorporate these lessons into future projects. This initiative underscores our commitment to ongoing learning and career development for our people.
And the learning doesn’t stop here! In two weeks, The Tulsa Division will be bringing another group to check out a new set of projects!
