Crossland is proud to share that Jon Heter, Mechanic Manager at Crossland, has been recognized by Construction Equipment Magazine as part of the Under 40 Class of 2026: Seven Rising Stars Shaping Construction Equipment.
The annual recognition highlights young leaders across the construction equipment industry who are helping move the industry forward through leadership, technical knowledge, innovation, and dedication to their teams.

During his 10 years at Crossland, Heter has built a reputation for being dependable, knowledgeable, and willing to do whatever it takes to keep crews moving. As Equipment Manager of the Columbus Shop, he plays a major role in keeping Crossland’s equipment fleet operating safely, efficiently, and reliably across multiple markets and jobsites. From managing repairs and maintenance to helping field teams solve problems quickly, his work directly impacts projects and the people depending on that equipment every day.
“Jon Heter is an incredibly knowledgeable and helpful leader of the Columbus Shop,” said Cade Gosch, Crossland Equipment Analyst/Outside Rental Manager. “He takes great pride in his work and ensures equipment is heading to its next project ready to go immediately. Jon oversees a great team of mechanics who share his drive to do things the right way and keep all our equipment running at top performance.”

But this recognition is about more than technical skill. It reflects leadership, accountability, and the kind of work ethic that earns respect from the people around you.
Construction Equipment Magazine’s Under 40 program recognizes professionals across construction equipment, fleet operations, dealerships, manufacturing, and service sectors who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to the future of the industry.
Recognition like this is a reflection of the people behind the work. The crews in the field. The mechanics in the shop. The leaders solving problems before most people ever see them.
We’re proud to see Jon recognized among some of the best young professionals in the industry and excited to see what’s ahead.
Congratulations, Jon, Well deserved!
