This transformative project encompasses both the demolition of outdated, non-functional areas and the construction of a brand-new airport terminal in Garden City. This endeavor will provide over 26,000 SF of modern terminal space designed to enhance the travel experience for residents and visitors of Western Kansas.
The new terminal will include expanded seating areas, streamlined security checkpoints, and additional boarding gates to better accommodate the growing number of travelers. By replacing the aging infrastructure, the project addresses both current and future demands, positioning Garden City as a pivotal transportation hub in the region.
With this development, Garden City Regional Airport is set to contribute to local economic growth by fostering more convenient travel and supporting increased business and tourism activities.
Garden City Fire Station #3
The Garden City Fire Department and Finney County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) have broken ground on a new shared facility, Fire Station #3, designed to enhance emergency response capabilities. This modern station will streamline operations between fire and EMS teams, improving coordination, reducing response times, and optimizing resources. Expected features include apparatus bays, living quarters, and training spaces, ensuring firefighters and EMS personnel are well-equipped. Recent construction milestones, such as the completion of the main driveway pad, indicate steady progress. This project reflects Garden City’s commitment to public safety by investing in infrastructure that supports the growing needs of the community.
