Celebrating Erick Lowe: 2024 Crossland Heavy Pinnacle Award Winner
| 3 minute read
Each year, the Pinnacle Award is presented to a Crossland Heavy employee who exemplifies excellence, leadership, and dedication to our company’s values. It’s our highest honor—an achievement comparable to being recognized as the leader of a championship-winning team. This year, that honor goes to Erick Lowe, Division Manager of Crossland Heavy’s Kansas City Division.
What the Pinnacle Award Represents
The Pinnacle Award isn’t just about the past year; it’s about consistent excellence over many years. It’s reserved for individuals who embody Crossland Heavy’s core values—trust, responsibility, integrity, and passion—and who make a lasting impact on our company, our clients, and our people.
As Dan Thompson, CHC President, put it:
“This award is for someone who not only moves the needle for us as a company but makes every employee better and embodies what Crossland Heavy stands for.”
Why Erick Stands Out
Since starting as an intern from Pittsburg State University in 2011, Erick has climbed the ranks, earning the respect and regard of everyone he works with. From his early days as a Project Manager to his promotion as Division Manager in 2017, Erick has consistently demonstrated leadership, integrity, and drive.
Erick’s colleagues describe him as:
- Passionate: “He genuinely cares about making Crossland a better place for employees and clients alike.”
- Driven: “Erick is always motivated to push boundaries and grow our Midwest market.”
- Honest: “He’s upfront and transparent in everything he does, a true person of integrity.”
In 2024 alone, Erick’s leadership contributed to over $200 million in growing backlog in his division—a remarkable achievement that underscores his impact.
A Hidden Talent (or Two!)
Beyond the job, Erick has a fun side. Did you know he’s a halfway decent guitar player? Or that he absolutely nails karaoke? (His rendition of the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz is legendary.)
Messages from Colleagues
Erick’s impact on his coworkers is undeniable, as highlighted by the heartfelt congratulations from his peers:
Dalton Foster, CHC Project Manager:
“Thank you for everything you’ve done for me personally and professionally. You mean a lot to me and so many others.”
John Gilroy, Project Manager at Black & Veatch:
“You set a great example of honesty and integrity. Congratulations—you absolutely deserve this award.”
Matt Rippe, CHC Sr. Project Manager:
“Erick, congratulations—you’re so deserving of the Pinnacle Award!”
Reflecting on His Journey
For Erick, this award is both humbling and meaningful:
“Winning the Pinnacle Award means the world to me. My career here has been such a great experience, and it’s an honor to be recognized in this way. I look forward to many more great years here, continuing to grow and helping others achieve their goals.”
Erick credits his success to the incredible mentors and teammates he’s had along the way, saying:
“You don’t have to go far at Crossland to find someone who cares about you and will go out of their way to help you succeed.”
Looking Ahead
As Erick continues to lead Crossland Heavy’s Kansas City Division, we’re excited to see what heights he’ll take us to next. Congratulations, Erick, on winning the 2024 Pinnacle Award—you’ve truly earned it!
