Prairie Grove WWTP Expansion
Prairie Grove, AR
Prairie Grove WWTP is the wastewater treatment facility for about 15,000 people in Prairie Grove, Arkansas and the surrounding areas. The plant was designed for a normal flow of 1.35 million gallons per day (MGD) and a peak flow of 4.5 MGD. Improvements focused on the construction of a third bardenpho treatment train, which would increase the plant capacity by 50%. Additional work included the construction of a second RAS (return activated sludge) structure, a stand-alone chemical feed building, installation of a third screw pump at the inlet facility, as well as the installation of a new rotary drum course screen at the inlet facility. The facility now meets the more stringent ADEQ permit requirements and will meet the needs of the growing Prairie Grove population for years to come.
