As Bev Davis bids farewell to Crossland after an impressive 23-year journey, let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible career of a dedicated individual who has played an essential role in our company’s growth over the years.
An Impactful Journey
In 2000, Bev learned about an open position at Crossland through a friend while working at Jasper Foods. She vividly recalls being extremely nervous during the interview with Ivan, fortunately for us, she was hired.
From her early days in Human Resources to her most recent role as Benefits Director, Bev played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s approach to employee well-being. When asked about her favorite part of the job, she said, “It’s been a privilege to work for the Crossland family and witness the company’s success. I’ve met some amazing people, and I’ve been able to not only watch them grow into leaders but watch their families grow as well. It’s been a blessing.”
Bev has been integral to the company’s growth, witnessing it expand from 360 employees when she started to nearly 1700 employees today. In 2008, she was honored with the prestigious Red Iron Award—a testament to her exceptional contributions.
Bev expressed deep gratitude for the experiences and relationships at Crossland and appreciates the mentorship of leaders like Jill Brennan.
The Next Chapter
As Bev embarks on a new chapter of life, her excitement for spending time with family and embarking on small road trips is palpable. With her husband, Bill, and sons Eric and Brett, along with their spouses and seven grandchildren, her family takes center stage in this next chapter.
She also looks forward to more gardening and attending grandchildren’s events.
Memories and Lessons Learned
Bev cherishes the countless memories and funny stories she recalls over the past two decades. From hiring debacles to many laughs with her co-workers, she looks back with pride on her journey here.
When asked if she had any wisdom to pass along to future generations, she said to learn from others. Working with a supportive team, Bev emphasizes the importance of collaboration and the ability to figure things out together.
As we bid her farewell, we extend our deepest appreciation for the dedication, passion, and kindness Bev brought to Crossland. May this next chapter be filled with joy, relaxation, and the warmth of family. Thank you, Bev, for an incredible journey—your legacy will forever be a part of the Crossland story.
