Red Rock Elementary School
Red Rock Renovation
Morrison, CO
Crossland was awarded a $950,000 contract for this project, which primarily focused on enhancing the school’s security measures at the entrance. Key components of this security upgrade included the construction of a vestibule at the front entrance and the implementation of a comprehensive security package. This package comprised an intercom system, ADA-compliant buttons, security cameras, and access control lockdown buttons.
In addition to the security enhancements, the renovation encompassed several other significant improvements. New wood doors were installed for the school gym, and classroom upgrades included the installation of new sinks and bases. The principal’s office also received an upgrade with the incorporation of built-in casework. To enhance the overall functionality and comfort of the school, new boilers, pumps, and ventilation systems were also integrated into the facility.
One noteworthy aspect of this project was Crossland’s collaboration with 15 high school students who were enrolled in a construction pathway as part of a career readiness program. These students had the unique opportunity to work as interns on the project, contributing their efforts to various tasks. Some of these students exhibited exceptional talent and a strong work ethic, prompting Crossland to offer employment opportunities to them upon their graduation. This was a great opportunity for us to give young talent a glimpse into the construction industry.
Overall, the Red Rock Elementary School renovation project was a significant endeavor that enhanced their security and facilities but also played a role in shaping the future careers of a few promising students.
