New Century Air WWTP Phase 1 & 2
New Century, KS
Crossland Heavy Contractors self-performed 75% of the work for the New Century Air Water Treatment Plant project and was able to achieve an on-time completion to provide the owner with the increased capacity they needed exactly when they needed it. This project involved the construction of a new 60’W x 93’L x 24’D Aeration Basin and piping to the existing aeration basins. It also included the construction of a new Final Flow Splitter Box, Final Clarifier, and a new 24’ deep RAS/WAS Pump Station. This Pump Station included two horizontal end-suction centrifugal RAS pumps, one progressing cavity Scum/WAS pump, electrical equipment, PLC control panel, HVAC equipment, and new suction and discharge piping, which connected to the existing pipe headers.
Crossland Heavy also completed modifications to the existing Administration Building, which included demolition of the existing aeration blowers, installation of 5 new turbo centrifugal aeration blowers and their associated piping, demolition of existing urea/sodium nitrate feed system, phosphoric acid feed pumps, and existing aluminum feed pumps, construction of a new chemical feed system, and the installation of new sodium nitrate, phosphoric acid, and alum feed pumps and all the associated piping and valves.
