Crossland Heavy Contractors completed the $21.3 million Hedge Lane Pump Station and Reservoir Project in Olathe, Kansas. Work included construction of a 7.5 million gallon, below grade, cast-in-place concrete reservoir for the storage of potable water. Additionally, crews constructed a 30 million gallon a day pump station that is expandable to yield 75 million gallons a day and contains four adjustable, speed-driven, horizontal split case centrifugal pumping units. The pumping station work included all cast-in-place concrete walls, exterior stone veneer, interior concrete masonry unit rooms, process piping and valves, aluminum grating and stairs, an overhead bridge crane, steel joist and decking, a TPO roof, plumbing, HVAC, and instrumentation. The exterior of the pump station included all buried piping, two cast-in-place vaults, two drainage headwalls, asphalt paving, site grading, seeding, and landscaping.
Despite the challenges that arose, the Crossland Heavy project team always had an upbeat, can-do attitude and treated Olathe’s entire staff with respect. They were responsive to our needs, respectful to our staff, effective at maintaining the schedule, and provided cost effective solutions.
